Dover Air Force Museum

Here are some pictures of our field trip to the Dover Air Force Museum on March 25. We also went to Dickinson Plantation. Hopefully I will be able to post some more pictures of the Museum and also some of the Plantation.

Wow! The Museum has sure changed since I was last there on a field trip 10 years ago. Definitely for the better. We had 2 wonderful tour guides, Paul and Dick. Both were volunteers there and had plenty of information to share!

My 1st House

I sold my 1st house on March 17th. God gets all the glory! I was sitting in the office when the phone rang and some one on the other end asked to see a house on Thurs. 14th. I made the appointment and met him and his wife at the house on the 14th. They looked it over and didn't have much to say, I didn't think they would as the condition of the house was pretty bad. A few hours after I got home Mr. C__ called and said he wanted to make an offer on it. I was so surprised and even better he wanted to meet that day, again! What a great Valentine's day present from the Lord! We wrote the offer and the next day it was accepted with a settlement date of March 17th. The Lord must have known, of course, that I was going to Jamaica during that time and had already worked it all out by making me a sellers agent so I didn't have to be at the settlement! God is so good!

Yes, that's the house in the picture!

Tid Bits from Jamaica

Bless the Lord!! He has ordered our steps in Jamaica. Much work has been done both in the physical and supernatural. It has been awesome to see the power of God flow through ordinary vessels. It is so encouraging to see brothers and sisters in Christ love, worship, and serve the Lord outside the states. The Lord reigns over Jamaica and the universe!! There are MANY Christians here that are sold out to the Lord and just like home there is a bar on every corner and sometimes two bars on every corner! We know who wins...Jesus!!! Just a few tid bits from our trip:
The Jamaica airport workers were on strike when we arrived and it allowed an extra hour or so to talk with the stewardess who was very curious about us traveling with six children to Jamaica not knowing how and where we were staying. She thought we were Mormons and I shared my testimony with her. She was very precious and I believe seeds were planted.
The first full day here we went to the grocery store and I spent 2,900 Jamaican dollars or J's...just like home..."Honey, I need more money!" A half a gallon of milk was $10.00 U.S. dollars...we opted to buy the reconstituted. We are unable to drink the water here and a 5 gallon jug is $20.00 and then they put it on the UV filter.
As we did not know what to expect for the accommodations, we prepared for camping and brought our own towels, sheets, sleeping bags as suggested. We were content for the floor but the Lord as blessed us with a very beautiful and comfortable place to stay. I feel the theme for me this trip is "exceedingly and abundantly" as we have truly been blessed more than we have been a blessing!!! Lucy's family threw a surprise anniversary party complete with banner and cupcakes!! I feel so much love from the group. All have helped with children and in everything: cooking, cleaning, etc.
I just figured out yesterday, that the weekend before we were to leave, the Lord gave me 2 Corinthians chapter 4 and I shared that with Ella and Joanne at Sonspot and it is painted on Pastor William's two churches we have visited. I thank the Lord that He can give me some encouragement that I hear Him.
Well, I could go on and on but will close with this...last night all the kids got a hot bath/shower. their second one, I was finally going to get my first warm shower so I turned on the water and the pressure was great, even Sherri commented, "Wow, your going to get a good shower!" I jumped in soaped/shampooed up praising the Lord and then the water cut out. Well, you know me, I just praised the Lord!!! The Lord has used every person here and His favor has been as a shield. It has been unbelievable!!
Blessings, Lisa

Welcome Little One

Our friends the Clearys sent out this e-mail yesterday:

We have a new baby boy! Oliver Timothy was born at home this morning around 4:45 on the 16th after a relatively easy labor and almost 3 hours of pushing. Mommy is sore! But he was so worth it, of course. He weighs 8 lbs 12 oz. We are thanking God for our wonderful blessing! -The Cleary Family

We rejoice with you all! Blessings.

Jamaica Part 3

Tomorrow will be our last full day here. I think the plan is to work until lunch and then after lunch go to an orphanage. But that is "Jamaican Time". Like when they said the bus for church would come at 7am... well.. it came 8:30 As much as we have enjoyed our stay I think we all are ready to go home.

Most of our days were spent working in the morning and afternoon. Just before dinner or right after was spent getting ready for the outreaches or meetings, that is if we had water for the showers! Most of our showers have been cold if we even have water! I have taken only 2 hot showers the whole time, but I have really been appreciating running water lately.
The food is.. well.. different. ALL chicken is cooked and cut with the bone still in, we had goat today, and chicken soup with chicken feet in it. It's a good thing I like rice!!

We went to a really nice beach yesterday for the afternoon and got dominoes pizza for dinner! I know.. they even have dominoes in Haiti.
Well someone else is waiting to use the computer and we have a meeting in 30 min. so until next post....

Jamaica 2

It is hard to believe it has been 5 days already. So much has happened... Bible studies, a Revival Meeting on Thurs. evening, Street Outreach tonight and painting, plumbing, tiling, etc. inbetween. Here are some pictures to help explain since Lee is bugging me to get off the computer so he can have it! Hopefully I can get some more up.. if Lee lets me

It is so weird seeing prices like this! It works out to be about $2.30 USD.

Our first day there and already they are jamaicans!

We all helped with the painting...

Even Ruby!

Jamaica Part 1

Here we are! We made it.

Wow.

It was a rough beginning. Here is a quick overview of Sun. -Today, Tuesday. We started packing on Sun. around 3:30 pm and finished at 7:30. Then we drove to Baltimore to stay at a friends church so we could get to the airport early without having to get-up too early. We still ended up having to get-up at 5am and even then we barely made our 9am flight. It was really crowded at the airport and it took us longer to do everything with all of us. We did make it and everything went well until we flew into Montego Bay at 1:30 on Monday...

All the workers at the Montego Bay airport were on strike.

We had to wait about an hour on the plane before they could get someone to open the doors for us. All our baggage made it out before us so we didn't have to wait for it. Immigration and Customs weren't too bad either. Once we got our luggage outside we loaded them on a bus and headed to Mandeville Evangelistic Center...

To be continued...

-Monika
PS
This is a quick overview and with over 20 people on the trip with us with only one computer to use, internet time will be short. We probably won't get to write real in depth until we get back to the states.

The Joys of Packing...

Tomorrow afternoon we will be heading to Baltimore to spend the night at our friends' church so we can be closer to the airport for our morning flight. It is nearing midnight and I am the only one packed so far! This could get interesting.
Whenever we come to your remembrance, PLEASE PRAY FOR US! We will need it.
Hopefully we will be able to post a little while away. I'm not promising though... I don't even know if we will have Internet access where we will be staying. We will see. Love you all!

Truth or Rumor?

Yes it is true. We check it out on Snopes and verified the fact that the Rumor is true.

The Lilleybillies are going to Jamaica!

We will be leaving on the 10th and coming home on the 18th of this month, March. We are going to Mandeville with some of our church to do some building and working in the day and holding meetings in the night.

We would greatly covet your prayers while gone as this is a big step of faith. Taking our whole family, finances, jobs, etc., But we trust the Lord and this is where He is leading us... we must follow! Where He guides He will provide.
