A man in Topeka, Kansas decided to write a book about churches around the country. He started by flying to San Francisco and started working east from there.
Going to a very large church, he began taking photographs and making notes. He spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with a sign, which read "Calls: $10,000 a minute." Seeking out the pastor he asked about the phone and the sign. The pastor answered that this golden phone is, in fact, a direct line to heaven and if he pays the price he can talk directly to GOD. The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way.
As he continued to visit churches in Seattle, Denver, St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, and around the United States, he found more phones, with the same sign, and the same answer from each pastor. Finally, he arrived at the Eastern Shore of MD; upon entering a church in Cambridge, behold he saw the usual golden telephone. But THIS time, the sign read "Calls: 35 cents." Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor. "Reverend, I have been in areas all over this country and in each church I have found this golden telephone and have been told it is a direct line to Heaven and that I could talk to GOD, but in the other churches the cost was $10,000 a minute. Your sign reads only 35 cents a call. Why?"
(I love this part)............................. The pastor, smiling benignly, replied, "Son, you're on the Eastern Shore of MD now. This is God's Country. It's a local call."

Well Hello!
Christmas was excellent! We had such fun. The kids did a string treasure hunt for their gifts from me. Then they cracked open their geodes (my gift) while waiting for Grandma (where was she??) After Bible... Hooray!, she finally came at 11! The kids did an excellent job being so patient. We spent the rest of the afternoon building/reading/playing with our gifts. Later after dinner we watched It's a Wonderful Life. *Jimmy Stewart is awesome.*
Lately we have been spending a lot of time at home. Cleaning, organizing, creating and just spending time together. It has been so much fun. The house is looking so much better. I think everybody feels better too. Getting rid of physical baggage helps get rid of spiritual baggage at the same time. It is amazing how much we hold on to. The silly things we can't get rid of because of the emotional attachment... "But I got this from... But he gave me this.."
After much prayer I have put my Real Estate License under inactive which means I am not a Real Estate Agent any more. It is so funny because even though this was never my first choice as a job/career and I couldn't wait 'till the Lord released me, it was hard to let go of something I worked so hard for. I don't understand why He has called me from this path but I know He has a plan..... He just hasn't showed me yet. I hope He shows me soon! :)
